A Very Long Engagement
Now here is my 10 most favorite movies of 2004. Compared to 2003, there haven't been that impressive movies (like Love Actually, Pirates of the Caribbean, Whale Rider, & of course LOTR). But I do love couple of movies.

1. Million Dollar Baby (one of the best in the history. I didn't like Mystic River, but this is so unforgettable. Hilary Swanks rocks!!)

2. Eternal Sunshine of Spottless Mind (Kate Winslet is the best! The coolest movie of the year! I bet it will be nominated for Oscar although few people expect.)

3. Dogville (I know it's hated by many people. But it was also acclaimed strongly. Nicole acted the best. Paul Bettany is amazing not just in Wimbledon;p)

4. Sideways (Wine wine wine wine!!! So funny and so touchy, but kind of kissing critics' ass?? Good though. Thomas Haden Church will likely get Oscar supporting actor.)

5. Finding Neverland (I cried alot and gave it 5+ rating, but could be forgettable. Anyways, Kate & Johnny are great and hope they can get Oscar (leading actor & supporting actress) Oh, btw, the kid Peter is also great!)

6. Closer (Here is another disagreed-by-many movie! I agree that Jude Law and Julia Roberts are nothing. But Natalie & Clive Owen are Oscar worthy!! Not just because of Nat I am in love with, but their acting must be considered as real. )

7. The Notebook (Does anyone know this movie? It's so cheesy melodrama, but so likable. The new actress Rachel McAdmas will be emerging soon.)

8. Motorcycle Diaries (Gael is ok as Che, but his buddy is much better!)

9. Ray (kind of drug movie)

10. Hotel Rwanda (Can't beatSchindler's List)

Runner-ups: Aviator, Troy, Fahrenheit 911

Movie Review 39
Million Dollar Baby (Rating: 5+++++)

Clearly, it's the best movie of the year. Hilary Swank must win the Oscar. Clint Eastwood directed and acted fabulously! It's certainly depressing, but totally different way from Mystic River, which was completely overrated.

It's called Boxing movie, but it's NOT! I can't spoil the story, so just go to see it!

Movie Review 40
Aviator (Rating: 4)

It's entertaining, expensive, and will be nominated for Oscar including Best Pic, Actor (Le0), Best Supporting Actress (Cate), and Best Director (Martin). But I doubt any of them will bring the Oscar home.

Movie Review 38
Closer (Rating: 4)

Closer was not what I had expected, in a bad way or good way. It was not love story at all. It is deception, weakness, and avenge fuck story. Whatever it is, above all, Natalie is superb!! Who the hell can think of Julia as a leading actress?? It is Natalie who is leading and even ending the story. Not just her outstanding presence, but literally she is there longer than Julia. Clive Owen is also amazing, kind of scary pervert, but great acting.

Anyway, it's pretty intense, powerful, and sad story. That movie make me feel I am nice person;) This movie tells you that all the guys are jerk. Basically, at first Nat and Jude were dating. But Jude loves Julia, who was dating Clive. Then now Jude and Julia. Clive went to Nat for avenge. Then, again again again...

I don't think Movie itself will be nominated for Oscar, unfortunately. But I wouldn't be surprised if Nat and Clive are nominated for leading or supporting acting.
