OK, basically, there is no surprise. Now my prediction time (I am sleepy.....).

BEST PICTURE (It's Aviator vs M$B)
*The Aviator (will win, w/ Director going to Clint)
Finding Neverland
Million Dollar Baby (One of the best in history!)
Ray
Sideways

BEST DIRECTOR (Again, Aviator vs M$B)
*Clint Eastwood - Million Dollar Baby (will win)
Taylor Hackford - Ray
Mike Leigh - Vera Drake (why this? why not others like Eternal Sunshine??)
Alexander Payne - Sideways
Martin Scorcese - The Aviator (might sweep)

BEST ACTOR (Clint vs Jamie. It used to be locked for Jamie, but because of Clint's nomination, now it's really uncertain... )
Don Cheadle - Hotel Rwanda
Johnny Depp - Finding Neverland (Pirates is better)
Leonardo DiCaprio - The Aviator
Clint Eastwood - Million Dollar Baby (Am glad he is nominated)
*Jamie Foxx - Ray (Still, I guess him)

BEST ACTRESS (Ignore Annette even if it's rematch w/ Hil. Imelda or Kate is more formidable)
Annette Bening - Being Julia (Don't want to see the movie)
Catalina Sandeno Moreno - Maria Full of Grace (Have to see the movie!)
Imelda Staunton - Vera Drake (Movie was boring...)
*Hilary Swank - Million Dollar Baby (Soon-to-be 2-time Oscar winner)
Kate Winslet - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Yay!)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Tom vs Morgan, but looks career award for Morgan)
Alan Alda - The Aviator (He is like only 15 minutes on the film!!!)
Thomas Haden Church - Sideways (I like him, but will be for next movie)
Jamie Foxx - Collateral (He is NOT supporting (which is by Tom Cruise), but leading!)
*Morgan Freeman - Million Dollar Baby (Never won, so looks honoring him)
Clive Owen - Closer (Most deserving!! Cruelly profane sex beast!!!)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS (Most competitive and unpredictable category. Really I have no clue. Should be Cate vs Virginia vs Nat)
Cate Blanchett - The Aviator (She is Elf queen, after all)
Laura Linney - Kinsey
Virginia Madsen - Sideways (Sideways is losing momentum)
Sophie Okonedo - Hotel Rwanda
*Natalie Portman - Closer (I am not biased! I am hopeful, but it's possible! She can win!)

FYI
From Daily News
Five things you didn't know about Natalie Portman

1. She was born Natalie Hershlag on June 9, 1981 (her mother's birthday) in Jerusalem. Portman, her stage name, is her maternal grandmother's maiden name.

2. Many of Portman's best scenes in "The Professional" (1994), her film debut, were cut. To see the missing 26 minutes, rent or buy the long-version DVD, "Leon: The Professional."

3. Portman is the subject of various songs, including one by Ozma on its album "Rock and Roll Part Three" and another by the Deftones spinoff Teamsleep, as well as an album by Chicago DJ Intel One, "Love: A Tribute to Natalie Portman." She's also pals with Maroon5.

4. In an 11-year career, Portman has been nominated for 22 awards and won three. In 2000, she missed out on a Razzie in the Worst Screen Couple category (with Jake Lloyd) for "Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace." The winners were Kevin Kline and Will Smith ("Wild Wild West").

5. She has made two films apiece with Ashley Judd, Lukas Haas, Julia Roberts, Jude Law and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and has been directed twice by Mike Nichols, in "Closer" and Chekhov's play "The Seagull."

Having see 2 more movies after I made the top 10 in 2004, I had to really update my favorite 10. You can see the order is totally mixed up since last one, but I don't actually care other than 1 & 2. What kind of ranking is that!?

1. Million $ Baby (Still the best! Hilary for Oscar in 2005! Hillary for President in 2008!!)
2. Phantom of the Opera (Sorry, I may lose my credibility about my reviews, but I have
addiction to musical. And Emmy Rossum is cute!!)
3. Eternal Sunshine of spotless Mind (Still confusing, which is why ranked here?)
4. Dogville (People must see how good this movie is! Nicole & Paul!)
5. Sideways
6. Finding Neverland (California Attorney is finding something in Neverland;p King of Pop soon to be arrested??)
7. Closer (Do I have a bad taste? Clive Owen is by far the BEST actor in 2004!!)
8. The Sea Inside (Best foreign movie although I haven't seen Flying Daggers or Maria Full of Grace or Very Long Engagement)
9. Notebook
10. Motorcycle Diaries
11. Ray
12. Hotel Rwanda
13. Bourne Supremacy
14. Aviator
15. Troy
Movie Review No. 42
The Sea Inside (Rating: 5)

It's depressing, but very beautiful & positive way. Another great movie in 2004 about a person who can't move below the neck (I won't talk about which movie as it will spoil the story).

Javier Bardem as Ramon is Oscar-worthy as claimed by many people. Also other actors are as good as him. Scene and music are beautiful.

Why it's showing only at one theatre in NY, I do not know. It's shame on the distributor!

Movie Review No. 41
Phantom of the Opera (Rating: 5)

OK, I have to say, screw the critics who gave terrible reviews to it. They are the people who don't see musical or who think they know musical. Anyway, I don't see musical at the theatre or know musical, but I enjoy it very much. The music never flies away from my ear. The leading girl is so cute!!!!!!!!

But I was so annoyed by kids who got so bored from the begging that they kept yawning, eating, drinking, running, chatting... Do not bring kids to musical! I am not dissing them, but their parents are torturing them!!

Anyhow, I am sure it will not nominated for Oscar unlike Moulin Rouge or Chicago, but the girl might be for leading actress.
